The ship "Flor do Douro" is a Vintage, Classic and historic boat that has been crossing the Douro River for over 60 years. Built in 1961, it was mainly dedicated to the passage from the Lordelo/Ouro pier (Porto) to the Afurada pier (Vila Nova de Gaia). In the past, the ship mainly served the community of fishermen and fishmongers during their daily crossings. Today, it is the users/tourists who give life to the boat. Inaugurated by His Excellency António Salazar in 1961, this charming and classic ship, with a touch of romance in the mix, will very soon serve the municipalities of Castelo de Paiva and Penafiel, resuming the old crossings between Pedorido (Castelo de Paiva) and Rio Mau (Penafiel). In addition to these crossings, the ship will also be used for short trips and tourist trips on the Douro River between the Crestuma/Lever dams and the Carrapatelo dam in Cinfães, thus offering our visitors a unique view of the Douro and its tributaries. from a different perspective in our region, it will operate mainly in high season and on weekends. If you wish for an additional cost, we can also offer you a meal on board, you choose the program you want and we meet all your needs.
