All about Cannes

Zooming around the French Riviera on a motorboat is the perfect way to discover the best bays, coves and islands that the Côte d'Azur Coast has to offer. A motorboat rental in Cannes can grant you the freedom to explore in endless hours of sunshine, whether for just one day, a week or more. Cannes has something for everyone, from boundless boutiques and shops to high-end restaurants, casinos and clubs

Cannes’ Ports and Harbors

Port Pierre Canto, situated on the east side of the main harbor, hosts most of our motorboats in Cannes. Within walking distance from the hustle and bustle of town, this esteemed port has excellent facilities

Located on the opposite side, Vieux Port (Port of Cannes) is modern and fully-equipped with excellent service. There are over 800 berths, yet due to its prime location we suggest booking in advance regardless.

Port Point Croisette is a smaller-scale mooring all the while in close proximity to local attractions, with a capacity for up to 260 boats. We recommend enquiring before arrival due to its smaller capacity and size.

Port Inland is further down the West Coast and has capacity for up to 800 boats with a wide variety of facilities and services available.

Port la Napoule is situated on the seafront, close to Port inland. It has a large capacity of boat spaces and offers all facilities and services required.

Climate and Sailing Conditions in Cannes

This region can often be subject to strong mistral winds during the winter and spring seasons. Hereby, we prefer to sail in Cannes during the summer when the sea is normally calmer and the winds have reduced to a gentle breeze. The hottest months are July and August with recent years peaking over 30°C due to heatwaves, though the average temperature is statistically 22°C. September is still warm but less crowded, making it a good month for you to go if your prefer to avoid the crowds. The conspicuous number of motorboat and yachts sailing during this part of the year confirms our theories.

What to do in Cannes

In Cannes, you can snorkel and explore the seabed of the secluded coves or bask in the sun whilst sipping a cocktail. Perhaps you prefer to spend all your time onboard your motorboat cruising the Mediterranean while enjoying the view of the Estérel mountains

For tasty treats, we recommend stepping no further than the Port of Cannes, where the seafront is lined with bars and high-end restaurants. Of course if you prefer to stretch your legs, you could stroll down the Boulevard de la Croisette where there is plenty of variety. Le Panorama Rooftop Bar is one of our favorites, the view at sunset is spectacular.

Visit the Suquet Hill district and embrace the old town’s history by visiting the Chateau de la Castre castle in the Old Town. These cobbled streets have plenty of gift shops, bars and bistros to keep you entertained for an evening.

How to get to Cannes

Nice-Côte d’Azur airport (NCE) is the closest airport. You can get to Cannes from the airport by bus, taxi or even train.

A taxi will cost approx. €70-75, depending on the time of day.

The bus (no. 210) costs €22 (€16.50 for under 26yrs, €5 for children aged 12 and under) and an open return ticket costs €33. A group ticket for 4 people can be purchased at €66.
