🛶 About Fenicia Fenicia is a beautifully restored Mallorcan llaüt, built in 1977 by Myabca in Port de Pollença — a classic example of traditional Balearic craftsmanship. Departing from Club de Mar in Palma, our skippered charters take you to picturesque coves, hidden caves, turquoise waters, and peaceful anchorages — perfect for a day of relaxed, authentic Mediterranean cruising. Originally inspired by fishing vessels, llaüts are designed for smooth, comfortable cruising — not speed — and that’s exactly what Fenicia offers: a slower, more connected experience at sea. She has space for 5 guests + skipper, with two cushioned solarium areas for sunbathing, one of which is shaded, and a recently installed teak swim platform for easy access to the water. Fenicia is used exclusively for day charters, but has a double Nautalin with cushions and children's books in case nap time calls. In the galley, there's a fridge, dining area and toilet. Safety equipment is fully compliant with Spanish charter regulations — including life jackets, VHF radio, and first aid kit. ⸻ 📍 Where You’ll Find Us Fenicia is moored in Club de Mar in Palma, on the southwest coast of Mallorca — the perfect departure point for exploring the Southwest's scenic coves, calm anchorages, and dramatic coastal cliffs. We mostly cruise around Illetes, Portals Vells, Cala Blava, and Cala Xada — all stunning, swimmable spots that are easy to reach within a half-day or full-day trip. You'll also enjoy the best view of Palma and its majestic cathedral as we leave the port. We offer optional catering on board with local tapas and Mallorcan favourites like sobrasada, olives, and manchego cheese, along with crowd pleasers like guacamole and dips. About Me I'm Kate Kassis, in my early 40s, living in Mallorca with my husband and our three children. I’m the founder of Family Friendly Mallorca, a boutique travel company that curates unique island experiences for families and small groups - including private charters aboard our classic llaut, Fenicia. Motor or Sail? I’m drawn to traditional sailboats, especially Mallorcan llauts. I love their elegance, stability, and the way they allow guests to slow down and truly enjoy the Mediterranean. What I Love About Boating For me, it’s about slow cruising, finding quiet coves, swimming in turquoise waters, and sharing a relaxed, local experience with our guests. No speedboats or crowds - just beautiful coastlines, great food, and a peaceful atmosphere. Experience While I’m not the skipper myself, our charters are always run by highly experienced, licensed local captains who know the island inside out. I focus on creating an exceptional experience – from the itinerary and on-board snacks to family-friendly details. Looking Ahead I’m passionate about growing our charter offerings while maintaining a personal touch. We're not a big tour operator - we value quality over volume. I’m also currently working on expanding our local network of guides, chefs, and wellness experts to add even more depth to what we offer.
