Climate and Sailing Conditions in Croatia

The high season runs from June to August which coincides with the sailing season (May to September), giving sailors plenty of vitamin D and swimming opportunities! Spring and Autumn feature cooler temperatures but the crowds are fewer so this is also a great time for your yacht charter. There are occasional showers with temperatures varying from 22°C to 28°C in the spring time, whereas the temperatures in summer can peak 30°C.

The wind force is generally 3 - 4 with a north-westerly direction in the summer.

Dream Yacht Charters in Croatia

Croatia's sailing waters are flanked by crystal-clear waters, impressive sandy architecture dating back hundreds of years and UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Dubrovnik and Spit all accessible by yacht. Choosing from a diverse range of rental  vessels, some of the most beautiful locations to explore by yacht include Rab, with its secluded and picturesque coves, and Krka, with its waterfalls and lush vegetation. Although the region is generally tranquil and peaceful, night owls can head for one of the bustling port hubs like Hvar for lively nightlife and food. Fans of Game of Thrones may well want to take a short cruise around Dubrovnik's coast to soak up many landmarks features in the show.

Itinerary Ideas for Croatia

Your itinerary really depends on what your idea of fun is, as Croatia not only provides you with over one thousand paradisiac islands, each of which has its own character and qualities, but also with various regions along the coast rich in culture and tradition.

For example, Hvar is known as the party island, whereas Mljet is a tranquil paradise carpeted in greenery and natural beauty.

Pula plays host to music festivals such as Outlook or Dimensions every summer where boat parties are a given and the standard city nightlife accelerates from vibrant to illuminous.

Charter Zadar, the Kornati Islands and Šibenik on the Dalmatian Coast for a real taste of coastal Croatian culture and lifestyle.

Travel Tips for Croatia

There are three main airports with direct flights from Europe; Dubrovnik (DBV), Split (SPU) and Croatia’s inland capital, Zagreb (ZAG). Depending on where you wish to begin your yacht rental, it may be better to fly to one of these airports and then get a regional flight to a smaller more local airport.

Please note that there are train services inland, but that many coastal cities do not have train stations, hereby making bus a suitable public transport method.
