Description of Vincent's sailboat
Comar - Comet 45s | 8 People
Hello, I offer you for rent my Comar Comet 45S, a seaworthy and safe sailboat. Built in 2008, the Comet 45s will quickly take you to the most beautiful anchorages. It will be perfect for a regatta or a sporting excursion. under sail Farewell III is a Comet 45 S built by Comar in 2008. Until recently, Italian (multi)millionaires raced in one-design (Rolex circuit), with a fleet totaling more than 80 boats. This is the “performance” version: Sandwich construction / epoxy / carbon reinforcements, mast, carbon boom and spinnaker pole, carbon steering wheel and rudder. Draft of 2.70 m. The technical sheet mentions a GV of 57 m², a genoa of 57 m² (+ code zero), a symmetrical spinnaker of 150 m². The fittings are those of a competition sailboat: ergonomic and efficient, generously sized and powerful (winches). An old IRC gauge certificate gave him a coefficient of 1.151, which did not prevent him from winning Capri Week in 2011. The speed polars of a sister ship are shown in the images. A world tour reports regular averages of 220 miles/day with a loaded boat. Farewell III is therefore a powerful unit for its size. It is a pure racing-cruising / fast cruising sailboat, with great finesse at the helm and very scalable. Healthy and balanced, powerful and stiff to the canvas, it has the overall efficiency of a Class 40 without its brutality. On the inside It is a 3-cabin version: two double berths aft, a double forward, 2 additional berths in the saloon (seat and lowered table). It has two bathrooms (WC/shower/sink) supplied with hot water. The long kitchen is functional, with fridge and oven. The chart table is comfortable. The available storage (beyond that used for armament) is more than sufficient. Ease and space have been favored over the number of berths. Configuration The boat is currently in cruising configuration: Headsail furler and lazzy bag. It can be put back in regatta configuration (double hollow forestay). It is available either - With a powerful conveying set of sails. Mainsail, genoa and staysail in DCX, inaugurated in August 2022, therefore new. - With an almost new set of carbon sails (competition). It has 2 spinnakers and a laminated code zero. The 60 hp engine and the three-blade folding propeller on S-drive transmission ensure a speed of 8.7 knots to the engine. Autonomy The water tanks total 400 liters. The diesel tank is 180 liters (excluding jerrycans). At 6.5 knots, the range is 60 hours / 390 miles. 3 service batteries (3 X 120 ah) and a starter battery provide electrical autonomy. A flat-deck solar panel ensures sufficient electricity production, without the need to start the engine to recharge the batteries. Cockpit and bridge The ergonomics are adapted to a crew of 10 to 13 people racing. The cockpit, dressed in teak, is spacious and ergonomic. Access to the sea is easy (open rear). The helm station is comfortable (giant wheel bar). The bridge is in painted epoxy, with an effective and non-aggressive anti-slip. For who ? Farewell III is dedicated to sailing pleasure with the added benefit of superior comfort. The autopilot and the quality of the deck plan limit the need for good level crew. The boat is intended for careful, rigorous and organized crews: - Good level crews with a regatta program over one season. - Crews of 4 to 6 people for whom pleasure navigation is an essential pleasure of cruising. - Cruise clubs excluding initiation cruises. - Families of real sailors. It is completely unsuited to the needs - Groups of students. - Works councils. - Families with only young children (and lacking team members). It's an expensive rental for its creek-to-creek flea-hopping. Where ? Farewell III is based in Port Napoléon (Port Saint-Louis du Rhône). To preserve the cleanliness of the hull, it is stored dry and launched on demand. Port Napoléon is (base: 7 knots) at: - 10 nautical miles – 1h30 from the creeks of Estaque. - 22 nautical miles – 3 hours from the Frioul Islands - 25 nautical miles – 3h30 from the Old Port of Marseille - 28 nautical – 4 hours from the Parc des Calanques (Cassis…) - 66 nautical miles – 9.30 a.m. from the Hyères Islands - 173 nautical – 24h30 from Corsica Rental price The pricing displayed is that of the boat with the cruising sails. The fee schedule takes into account: - The season - The configuration of the boat (fast cruise / performance cruise / regatta) - The duration of use Specific conditions are possible for long-term availability and temporary use (Cruise Club / Competition Crew). Getting Started Assistance A complete book on the specificities of the boat is made available to the skipper: - Start-up and commissioning, commissioning (valves, hydraulic backstay, engine, electricity). - Storage – Location of equipment. - Specific tricks. - Shutdown and safety (valves, hydraulic backstay, engine, electricity).
