Stay on the Blavet – Charming cruiser with terrace, for relaxed self-drive cruising Albatross is a lovingly restored 10-metre Dutch Pedro 30 cruiser, moored in the peaceful village of Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux. With her wooden finishes, cosy interior and sunny terrace deck, she offers a unique way to explore the Blavet Valley — one of Brittany’s most beautiful and tranquil waterways. She has been restored by hand, with care and character, to offer something calmer, slower and more personal — ideal for guests who want to enjoy the rhythm of the water rather than rush through it. ⸻ Two ways to cruise From April to October, Albatross is available for self-drive cruising, with no licence required. All stays are offered with a minimum of 3 nights, with flexible arrival and departure days, allowing you to plan your cruise around your own schedule throughout the season, including high summer. You can choose between: Short cruises (from 3 nights) Ideal for a long weekend or short break on the Blavet. Longer cruises A more leisurely pace, ideal for exploring further along the Canal de Nantes à Brest. Before departure, you’ll receive a friendly handover and assistance through your first locks. You’ll then be free to cruise at your own pace — stopping beneath stone bridges, walking shaded towpaths and mooring overnight in quiet villages along the river. All linen, towels, cleaning products, heating and hot water are included. The boat is fully equipped with a fitted kitchen, Wi-Fi (where available) and a TV with Firestick. A small welcome pack and a souvenir logbook complete the experience. ⸻ Along the way On the cruising stretch you’ll discover: Shady towpaths and historic stone bridges Weekly markets in Baud and Pontivy The cliff-side Chapelle Saint-Gildas at Bieuzy Summer cafés and riverside stops Direct access to the Véloroute 8 cycle path Saint-Nicolas-des-Eaux itself has year-round charm, with riverside cafés, walking routes and a relaxed Breton atmosphere — the perfect starting point for a slow, scenic escape on the water.
