Is it possible to rent a boat in Amalfi Coast with or without skipper?

It is possible to rent a boat with or without a skipper. To rent a bareboat charter in the Amalfi Coast you will need a valid boating licence or you can rent a license free boat. Sailing the Amalfi Coast in Italy makes the tours of the island something unique to your trip.
If you would rather keep your feet up and relax, why not look at an Amalfi Coast yacht? You can rent with a skipper and make your Amalfi boat trip crewed with a chef!

What to do on the Amalfi Coast?

With your boat rental on the Amalfi Coast you can take advantage of all of the sensational spots on offer on the Amalfi and Sorrento Coasts. You can sail to the destinations that appeal to you most: Vietri sul Mare, Unesco heritage, Maiori and Minori, with their elegant restaurants and VIP spots, Ravello, with its villas and cultural environment, the historic Amalfi, Positano and much more… These are amazing areas for boat trips in Italy so check out the Amalfi boat hires.
Families and couples will want to rent a boat for a week to soak in the Amalfi Coast at a comfortable pace. Here is our suggested Amalfi coast sailing tour. Starting from the beautiful marina of Salerno, you can set sail on your adventure, hugging the coast and stopping at Sorrento, through picturesque fishing villages and impressive coastal cliff landscapes. Next, it's best to sail to the small island of Procida, famed for its lemon groves and tranquil beaches. Next, Ischia — the largest island in the Bay of Naples — offers a more bustling feel, with fantastic seafood restaurants and rocky outcrops you can explore by foot. From here, Capri would be the next best port town and an ideal place to watch the superyachts sail in. It's steady sailing now back to Salerno. But first, you'll stop over at famous Amalfi, a luxury resort dating back to Roman times and a vibrant last stop before returning full circle.
If your trip is shorter, why not start your Amalfi coast boat rental for a full day. Boats from Amalfi to Positano are highly recommended so you can see the best sloping city.
Of course you can also choose the type of boat that best suits your needs to travel this wonderful stretch of the Tyrrhenian Coast. You can rent a wide variety of vessels from an extensive and well-maintained fleet at many of the suggested port towns above. Although a week-long charter with a skipper is ideal, daily excursions also offer a unique experience of the Amalfi Coast only available by boat. We recommend renting a motorboat if you want to sail the coasts of the many villages easily and quickly. If you are a lover of the sea and you are looking for an authentic nautical experience, we recommend renting a sailboat. Alternatively, if you are looking for luxury do not think twice and rent a catamaran or a yacht on the Amalfi Coast!
As the sun shines for so many months a year on the Amalfi Coast, it helps to make local gastronomic products unique. Lemons and liqueurs derived from them, such as Limoncello, are famous throughout Europe and the world. Do not miss the opportunity to taste originals, as well as other culinary specialties of the region, including anchovies and fish preserves.

How is the weather and sailing conditions on the Amalfi Coast?

The summer season here runs from the end of April to the end of October. Spring is the most appropriate season to rent a boat on the Amalfi Coast if you are looking for flowery coasts, mild temperatures, little rain and not so many tourists at sites of interest. During spring, the Amalfi Coast is truly enchanting.
In summertime, between peak summer in July and August, the temperatures rise, and reach 29ºC on average. Naturally during peak season, visitors increase, as well as the number of events and parties to attend.
Last but definitely not least, you can enjoy less torrid temperatures and the warm sea in September and October.

Which are the most popular ports on the Amalfi Coast?

The Amalfi Coast is made up of many villages, each of them has its own small port. However, not all have recreational boats for rent. Boat rentals in Italy's Amalfi Coast have endless options.

How to get to Amalfi Coast?

Reaching your boat rental on the Amalfi Coast means you must first reach the nearest major cities: Naples or Salerno.
You can land at Naples-Capodichino Airport and from there get to Salerno by train or directly to the Amalfi Coast by bus.
If you land in Rome, you have to calculate a little more time to get to Naples. Buses depart from both Naples and Salerno to the Amalfi Coast, although if you start your trip from Naples it will be longer and you will probably have to change buses in Sorrento.
You can also get to Naples and Salerno by ferry, a good alternative to travelling by car, especially in summer when traffic can be difficult on the narrow roads that lead to the Amalfi Coast.
