AND LEAD YOU TO BEAUTY: Enjoy sailing north along the cave-dotted coast between Monopoli and Polignano a Mare. Take a dip from the boat in front of Grotta Palazzese with its enormous vault and suspended restaurant, the emblem of Polignano. Grotta delle Rondinelle, accessible by sea, is one of the largest but also one of the most interesting; Grotta Ardito, Grotta degli innamorati, Cala Paura, Ponte dei Lapilli, Lama Monachile, one of the most picturesque beaches in the heart of Polignano a Mare's historic center; Cala Port'Alga; and the Scoglio dell'Eremita, a rock face just over thirty meters high, once inhabited and home to a man. Last but not least, the area also features Egnazia, the largest archaeological site in Puglia, and Savelletri, a charming, quaint fishing village. Alternatively, sail south along the coast between Pilone/Torre San Leonardo and Torre Santa Sabina. Enjoy the stretch of coast with high dunes covered with centuries-old juniper trees, sandy beaches, both public and private, and the fascinating cliffs of Pilone. Head towards Quarto di Monte: the beach characterized by clear waters and golden sand. Treat yourself to a stop at the ancient Port of Ostuni (Petrolla), which is now a small marina, a landing place for small fishing boats and pleasure craft, equipped with tourist services and activities. Explore the wild sandy coves and rural landscape of Gorgognolo, cruising along the coast of Marina di Ostuni, halfway between Villanova and Costa Merlata, and the medium-low cliffs. Continue sailing towards Torre Pozzelle, with its five enchanting sandy coves enclosed by low rocky cliffs, which also feature a rare forest of centuries-old juniper trees and a small wetland. And finally, discover the Grotta del Moro in Torre Santa Sabina, also known as the Blue Grotto for its shimmering waters. It's a small "crater" with several tunnels, including the main one leading out to sea.
