Description of Stéphane's sailboat
Dufour Yatchs - Dufour 40 | 4 People
Classified as a "racing/cruising" sailboat, the Dufour 40 is an exceptional boat, especially for its seaworthiness! Particularly comfortable, even in rough seas, it exudes an undeniable sense of security! Fast and efficient upwind, it's renowned for being a pleasure to helm, and at anchor, it offers a comfortable living space all its own for a 40-footer, thanks to its large saloon, head, and separate shower cabin! I invite you to come aboard Coriolis for a Co-Sailing Experience! Originally from Brittany, born in Lorient, I started sailing at the age of 15. I skippered my first boat at 16, a Muscadet, with which I explored the Breton coast. Then came my first regattas aboard half-toners for winter training in La Baule. My first offshore race at 18 was the "Loire-Costa-Esmeralda" on a 9.20m boat. Then came countless sailing trips to race as much as possible; anything was good as long as I could sail, like that match-racing competition in the large basin of the port of Saint-Nazaire, aboard a Class 8, with Nicolas Loday (Olympic Champion) at the helm! In the 1990s, I skippered for the DEME sail loft, sailing my RUSH, for six years. Thanks to that boat, I filled the cupboards with trophies of all kinds! Since then, I've closed the chapter on regattas to dedicate myself to cruising! Today, with my Dufour 40, I'd like to help you discover the most beautiful anchorages of Brittany and the Ponant Islands, on sailing trips lasting a weekend or longer! I think I can safely say that I've stopped in every port from Aber Wrac'h to Santander (Spain). Depending on your specific needs, I can arrange your embarkation from the following ports: La Roche-Bernard, Piriac, La Turballe, and Le Croisic. Le Croisic might be a good option if you're arriving by TGV, thanks to its terminal; the train station is a 10-minute walk away. (Subject to availability at each port.) In this case, the boat delivery is free; you'll only be responsible for the port fees (approximately €45-50 if we stay overnight). We'll finalize all the details once you contact me! I'll show you the most beautiful anchorages in Brittany, such as: Houat's main beach, The church beach on Hoedic, The small bay of Beniguet north of Houat, Ster Vras at the foot of the Poulains lighthouse on Belle-Île, Or even the one at the foot of an old Vauban fortress, and why not the Penfret lighthouse in the Glénan archipelago! And many more! If fishing appeals to you, we can then take out a line and in the evening, at anchor, cook the fish you've caught! It's not uncommon to catch a few mackerel, or even a nice sea bass, if the conditions are right! I must admit, my friends call me a "bon vivant"! I have two passions: sailing and Brittany, and I want to share them with you! So, if you too would like to take a break at sea and combine sailing, discovery, and a friendly atmosphere: Contact me! Stéphane Note: To ensure everyone's safety and peace of mind, I do not take children under 15 years old on board.
