About the experience

This half-day private megayacht tour is a unique and easy way to enjoy Costa Rica’s beautiful coastline, starting right from the beach at Planet Hollywood in Peninsula Papagayo. There’s no need for transfers or trips to the marina—just walk out of your hotel and onto the sand, where the Azimut 105 Megayacht will be waiting. You’ll step straight from the beach onto the yacht and begin your adventure immediately.

Once onboard, you’ll be greeted with welcome drinks and fresh tropical refreshments. The full crew—including your captain and private chef—will take care of everything, so you can just relax and enjoy the ride.

You’ll sail by the well-known Monkey Head Rock, a unique rock formation that looks like a monkey’s head—a great place for some memorable photos.

The highlight of the tour is Playa Huevo, a quiet, hidden beach that can only be reached by boat. If the tide is low, you’ll also get to see some of the sea caves nearby. You can take a swim, snorkel in the clear water, or just relax on the beach while the crew sets up lunch.

Even on this shorter trip, the food is a highlight. Your private chef will prepare a fresh and tasty meal onboard. You’ll start with a platter of seasonal tropical fruits, a green salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, and crunchy vegetables with ranch dip. The main course includes grilled chicken fajitas served with Mexican sides like black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips. A cold pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, olives, and parmesan is also served. To finish, you’ll enjoy a slice of rich chocolate cake.

The bar is fully stocked, with fresh juices, iced tea, sodas, lemonade, and sparkling water, as well as premium spirits and mixers. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail, choose from margaritas, mojitos, piña coladas, Cuba Libres, or other favorites, all made with top-shelf liquor and fresh ingredients.

The yacht is equipped with plenty of features to make your time onboard special. You can relax in the Jacuzzi, enjoy the sun on the deck, jump in from the swimming platform, or use the paddleboards and floating mats for some fun in the water.

After a few hours of exploring and relaxing, the yacht will cruise back toward Planet Hollywood. Enjoy a final drink while taking in the ocean views before stepping directly back onto the beach in front of your hotel.

    The service was outstanding. The crew, pilot, first mates, bartender were excellent. Even for a rainy day, the experience was great and we had a very nice time on the boat. The boat was okay but clearly shows age and fairly significant wear and tear yet still charged a fairly high premium for the boat which isn't justified. There aren't other yachts of the same size in the area, so you're subject to some supply and demand. Again, the crew was great but the boat was just okay, if not a little below average. From a distance, it looks good.
