From June to mid-September, it is hot and sunny, with rare showers. Typically, the maximum temperatures hover around 30 °C (86 °F) and rarely exceed 33/34 °C (91/93 °F), but the air is a bit humid.

The airport of Skiathos island is located 3 km from the capital town, on the eastern side of the island. It receives regular internal flights from Athens all year round and the flight time is 30 min. In summer, it also receives many charters and international flights from abroad. Outside the airport, there are taxis to get you to the port.
