Reviews on boats

Sarah
Aug 10, 2024
A huge thank you to Bruno for an incredible day on La Flaneuse! Our group of two families, including seven children/teenagers, greatly enjoyed the beautiful sites and learned a lot about operating a sailing boat. We brought a picnic, a couple of bottles of wine, and a wireless speaker and sang, danced, and laughed the entire time. We stopped for a swim and were able to jump from a couple of the coastlines. We were also visited by an “ice cream boat” selling cold treats and beverages. It was a perfect day and I highly recommend Bruno and his beautiful boat if you’d enjoy a day on the water.

Is it possible to charter a boat in Marseille with or without a skipper?

If you're looking to hire a boat in Marseille, the good news is that the process is relatively simple. Whether you're a seasoned skipper or a novice to the seas, there are many options for a Marseille boat rental with or without a skipper.

If you're considering a Marseille yacht charter without a skipper, it's important to note that boats up to 15 horsepower can be rented without a license. However, if you're planning on renting a more powerful vessel, you'll need a valid boating license to captain it yourself. If you don't have a license, don't worry - many boat owners offer skipper services, meaning you can sit back and enjoy the journey without having to worry about navigating the waters.

What to do in Marseille?

Marseille is a French Riviera city known for its natural beauty and beaches. Boat charters in Marseille offer an optimal choice to explore the stunning inlets carved out of limestone cliffs, sandy islands, and secluded beaches. Here are some of the best beaches to visit during your Marseille vacation:

Plage de Maldorme

A pebble beach protected from the wind by picturesque houses. It can get busy during summer, but you can climb from rock to rock to find your private boulder to lay on.

Plage du Prophete

One of the oldest beaches in Marseille, great for families with small kids. There are no waves or wind, making it perfect for kids to learn to swim.

Plage de L'Huveaune

A narrow stretch of sand runs along the main boulevard, with lifeguards, a large playground, and a beach bar, making it perfect for families with kids.

Plage Colombet and Plage des Phocéens

Two little-known beaches on the outskirts of Marseille, surrounded by high rocky cliffs, ideal for finding shelter from the afternoon heat.

Plage de Sainte Croix and Plage de la Saulce

Two beautiful sandy beaches that you can discover during your Marseille boat trip. The white bay, separated by a small headland, can get packed with sunseekers during the hotter months, but that’s the best part about a boat hire in Marseille.

Frioul Islands

A must-visit during your Marseille boat tour. You can hire a boat in Provence and head to the islands to enjoy the different blues and white cliffs. Enjoy water sports like paddleboarding while looking for marine life.

Camargue Coast and Beyond

There are plenty of protective bays to explore and anchor in with your Marseille yacht rental. The stunning Camargue coast is just west of the city, with huge sandy beaches in places like Saint Pierre La Mer. You can also explore the smaller port city of Toulon and the world-famous resort of Saint Tropez, known for its upmarket boutiques.

There are plenty of places to visit in the south of France, like Monte Carlo right on the Italian border. You can sail through the different parts of France at your leisure with Nautal and enjoy the national parks, film festivals, and more. Whether you are a family looking for a beach break or an adventurer wanting to explore hidden coves and islands, Marseille has something for everyone.

In the winter months, the temperatures in Marseille can drop to as low as 6°C, but this is still warmer than many other European destinations. The sea conditions can be unpredictable during this time, and it is advisable to check the weather forecast regularly if planning to go boating.
