Naples & Procida Authentic Cruise

Very easy and prompt communication. I don’t get reviewers trying to pick on details. The catamaran and service is more than what you can expect for the price. Antonio the captain has been very understanding and met all our requests. Went to Positano and Capri, the scenery is awesome. The only downside was the remote port location. We had a hard time finding a taxi on Freenow or uber to return to Naples city center, but Antonio rescued us and found one for us. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience !

Antonio was a great skipper but there was confusing information with the owner re. fuel consumption (we also needed to pay for the sailing between our start/end and his home base): we used five hrs of fuel on the catamaran but had to pay for 14 hrs. And we had to pay in cash because the owner couldn’t take credit cards. All this was not communicated in advance.

This boat says it is a 2022, it is not. We investigated and found out that it is a 2018. The boat is in good shape for a 2018 boat, but very different from the pictures in the website. That is not the same boat. Different color interior and details. This is NOT a luxury charter boat. It’s a nice boat, but not a 3 year old luxury catamaran. Beware the price you book does not include provisions for the crew (you are responsible for paying for) fuel and docking fee. After boarding the boat we were told that running the engines is €100 per hour and running the generator is €50 per hour. Which is ridiculous, but you can’t argue, because you are already on the boat. We never sailed so the engines ran anytime we went anywhere. In two days and two nights the fuel was €880. Provisions cost €920, and only had a few items that I requested. The remainder were items the captain wanted. It was a frustrating not having things you want to eat and snack on when you have a specific list. The owner will also tell you the day you get on the boat that there is a €1,000 security deposit that needs to be paid. The captain was difficult to communicate with and to get information from. We had suggestions on where to go, and there was never a schedule or a game plan for anything. We wanted to go to secluded beaches that you could only get to by boat, and it was never able to happen. Also, it seemed like we were inconveniencing the captain with every question or request. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, but did not speak any English and she got sea sick and unable to help. The boat can fit four couples and the rooms are good size (for a boat). Each cabin has a full bathroom. Not sure where the captain and hostess went to the restroom. We were never able to turn on the air conditioning, even though we were told that it worked fine. We opened the windows in the bedroom and had a small fan. It was September, but still too hot to sleep without air conditioning. A couple guest slept outside on the deck where it was cooler. The captain and the hostess are also cooking the meals. The meals were fine, but not near chef quality. I would suggest eating almost all your meals off the boat at restaurants. We went to Capri and stayed in the bay overnight. We had one amazing day of calm seas and sailing around the island, swimming, laughing & seeing the caves. It was the best day of our two week Italy trip. Weather plays a big part. The weather was windy one night and we had to stay off the boat in hotels on Capri because we were getting sea sick. We cancelled the last day of our four day charter short because of rough seas. There is no refund when the weather is bad and you can’t stay on the boat. The review process only shows the “highest rated” reviews first. I wanted people to see my review so you know what you are getting into. This boat charter is much cheaper than other companies, but it clearly offers worse service and an older boat. Please be aware. I did not spend $100,000 for a luxury yacht charter, but for the amount of money I spent, I expected a lot more. We were very disappointed.

A totally disappointing experience. First of all, the cleanliness on board was unacceptable: the catamaran showed obvious signs of neglect, with dirty and poorly maintained spaces. We boarded with an unacceptable fishy smell in the galley (I had to clean it myself for hours and hours to fix it). Not to mention the cleanliness of the sheets: pubic hair everywhere, and fans in the bedrooms (also cleaned by me) with dust that had been accumulating for years, I think. The bathrooms were stinky; the galley, in addition to the stench of cooked fish, had pots and pans still greasy and smelly, dirty drawers, etc. Even the sail, I think when rarely opened, was black. I noticed a lack of organization throughout the entire trip. The owner was cold and inflexible (he didn't even show up for checkout). The information provided was often confusing and unclear, leading to stressful situations that could have been avoided with better planning. Another negative aspect was the hidden costs. Although the initial rate seemed reasonable, there were numerous extras (beware of the generator costing €15 per hour and gasoline costing €50 per hour of sailing, which are far from the true cost of a catamaran). For all these inconveniences, no discount was offered, and we even spent at least an hour and a half sailing to pick up clean sheets in another port. Finally, the captain did not demonstrate the professionalism and empathy one would expect in such a context. His attitude was distant and unwelcoming, which further ruined the atmosphere of the trip. For example, we had a 10-month-old baby on board; never a "hi" or "hey" was said (she still got a hefty tip). In short, I recommend looking elsewhere. This experience did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend it even to my worst enemy.
