Matías is Luziana´s captain, below his story. I began sailing young and never looked back. At eighteen, I crewed a 15-meter racing sailboat from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro. By nineteen, I was entrusted with the command of a Bavaria 50, running biannual transfers between Rio de Janeiro and Uruguay, a responsibility that set the tone for everything that followed. Over the next several years, I dedicated myself to boat restoration and offshore sailboat transport, completing more than 300 deliveries and crewing in hundreds of regattas across a wide range of vessels. One of the most formative passages was a 60-day ocean crossing from Venezuela to Buenos Aires aboard a Tratan 43. Seeking deeper technical knowledge, I completed a five-year degree in marine engineering, a qualification that certifies me to sail on vessels registered under 280 different flags. I served as a marine engineer for over two years, gaining firsthand experience with large-scale maritime operations. My most recent offshore passage was aboard a Lagoon 44 F catamaran, from Buenos Aires to Angra dos Reis. I've sailed the Brazilian coastline extensively, and I also refitted an Amel 46 Mango, preparing her for a voyage to Antarctica. For fifteen years, I owned my own sailboat and worked as a sailing instructor, sharing what the sea had taught me. Last year, I spent six months in Ibiza chartering boats and hosting overnight sailing experiences for international guests. It confirmed what I already knew: what I enjoy most is the connection, with the sea and with the people on board. I'm passionate about fishing, snorkelling, and freediving, and I bring that energy to every charter.
