About the experience

Depart from the port of Sorrento for an extraordinary 6-hour private boat tour that will take you along the most iconic stretches of the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts. This flexible experience allows you to explore breathtaking landscapes, charming villages, and hidden swimming spots, all at your own pace and with the expert guidance of a local skipper.

The journey begins with a relaxing cruise along the Sorrento Peninsula. You’ll pass natural landmarks like the Massa Lubrense waterfall, where fresh water meets the sea, and the legendary Bagni della Regina Giovanna, an ancient Roman site with a natural pool. When you reach Punta Campanella, where the gulfs of Naples and Salerno meet, you’ll cross the Amalfi Coast, where the scenery becomes increasingly spectacular.

From there, you’ll sail past the tranquil Nerano Bay and glide past enchanting spots like the Grotta dello Sogno and the serene Baia di Ieranto. As the coastline rises around you, you’ll encounter the narrow and spectacular Fiordo di Furore, before continuing on to Positano, with its colorful houses and elegant cliffside charm. Just offshore, the mysterious Li Galli islands come into view, steeped in mythology and marine beauty. Depending on your timing and preference, your final stop can take you all the way to Amalfi, where you can stop for a quick visit or simply admire the view from the water.

Domineco was a pleasure to work with in booking the boat day on board the Romar Bermuda boat. He was very easy to communicate with via messages on the click and boat app and then on whatsapp to communicate further details. Our skipper Roberto did an incredible job today and we had the best day thanks to his experience and kindness throughout the day. We got to see the whole coast of Amalfi, go into the Blue Grotto, go swimming and have lunch in Capri which was kindly booked for us by this team. We saw a lot along the way and felt comfortable the whole day. Thanks for a great trip!

Vincenzo was our skipper for the day and he was amazing. His English was great so he told us all about everything we were passing, loads of interesting stories. We did the Amalfi coast tour and stopped off at a beautiful secluded beach for a swim, and went swimming inside a cave and a gorgeous little cove area with crystal clear water. Vincenzo played Italian music radio whilst we were driving, it was beautiful!! The boat was different to what we had booked but Vincenzo made the day amazing anyway xx

Given a beautiful day, I suspect it would be very hard not to enjoy a day on the waters around Capris. And we did; we had a wonderful time. We would not, however, use this operator again or recommend his services. Here are the primary reasons for our low marks. 1. We did not get the boat we chartered. I don’t know boats; the actual boat used may have technically been better than the boat advertised, but it certainly wasn’t newer, and it did not present as well as the boat pictured in the advertisement. The operator said that the boat we chartered was under repair. This claim was a bit difficult to believe because we booked the charter just 36 hours in advance. 2. Absent operator. The actual operator did not show. He was “on another tour.” Instead, he communicated by text and contracted a skipper to captain the boat. This was a huge problem (given the rate charged) because the skipper did not speak a word of English and could not properly take guidance from us as to what we wanted to see or do. Nor could he tell or teach us anything about the area. Making matters worse, texting the operator failed once we were on the water because we generally did not have a signal. On a less expensive tour (of which there were many), I might have expected to go along for the ride with little customization and little opportunity to ask questions, but given the price I paid to this operator, I found the service falling below expectations. 3. Absolutely Insane Itinerary decision. On the far side of Capris, my wife and I made a gesture to show the skipper that we were ready to eat. He stopped at one restaurant (to which you directly dock), but it was full. Then, for some reason known but to the skipper and God, rather than take us to the town of Capris (a few minutes away), he drove back across the channel to Sorrento, which is where we had boarded the boat that morning. It took us almost an hour to get back to Sorrento and 45 minutes to return to Capris after we ate. It literally wasted 1.5 to 2 hours of the day (as open-water channel skipping was certainly not our goal). Furthermore, the decision put us in a town for lunch that we had no reason to revisit. As we were leaving the island of Capris for lunch, I knew something was off and tried to stop the skipper from returning to the mainland, but he could not understand a word I was saying. He insisted on heading in his preferred direction. When we finally stopped in Sorrento, I was dumbstruck. Back on land, I texted the operator to let him know I was irritated. Rather than admitting the absurdity of the situation, he made some odd suggestion that it would have been difficult to get lunch on Capris. This was obviously nonsense. After lunch, we headed back to Capris and saw restaurants everywhere. 4. The insult. At the end of the trip, when it was time to pay for gas, the operator had the audacity to charge us extra for having made two trips to Capris. When I suggested to the operator (by text, of course), that the second trip to Capris was the result of a crazy decision by the skipper that wasted two hours of the day, he simply said don’t fight it. I didn’t, and I certainly won’t in the future. I feel somewhat bad leaving this review because we could tell that the skipper was a genuinely wonderful guy. He seemed like the nicest guy in the world — very eager to please. We tipped him, in fact. He was simply put in a position by the operator where failure to meet expectations was almost inevitable. In short, I would recommend finding someone cheaper or better. You could probably do both.
