Much like other Mediterranean areas, Šibenik experiences hot and dry summers, with spring and autumn also providing pleasant sailing weather. The average temperature in July and August summer months peak 30°C, heating up the Adriatic Sea to over 20°C.
In general, winds in summer are not very strong. Šibenik is a great location for beginner sailors as the area is fairly calm and also sheltered by the Kornati Islands. The bora wind is the strongest wind in this area, although predominantly in winter.

The closest airports to Šibenik are Split Airport (SPU) 50 km away and Zadar Airport (ZAD) 79 km away. Driving from either airport will take approximately one hour, whereas bus journeys average at two hours.
