Kerkyra (Corfu town) is the capital of this beautiful island and has a rich history. You can spend hours wandering around and shopping in the city centre, where you will find many narrow streets and old Venetian buildings. We recommend that you go to the fortress of Corfu town which overlooks the beautiful Ionian sea. You can take your boat to the fort at the Yacht Club of Corfu or to the old fishing port, both within walking distance of the old centre.
Corfu has many places of interest. On the southeast side of the island, you can find a small fishing town and the port of Petriti. Here the fishermen sail out every night, except at full moon, just before sunset. At the harbour, you can find different fish taverns where delicious fresh fish is prepared.
On the west coast of Corfu, you will find the beautiful seaside town of Paleokastritsa. With its countless bays with rocky outcrops, pebble beaches, azure blue sea and its green surroundings, you really can't skip this place. On the peninsula of this beautiful town, you will find the old monastery. Note that the sea off the coast of Paleokastritsa can get a little rough in the afternoon.

Climate and wind conditions when renting a boat in Corfu
The climate on Corfu is fairly mild. The hottest months are from June to September, with the maximum temperature rising to around 35 degrees. At night the temperature almost never drops below 20 degrees. In May the seawater is still fresh and the island is in full bloom, making it a great time to discover Corfu! In July and August, the temperature of the seawater rises with high temperatures of 26 degrees, especially on the east coast. The west coast is usually around 23 degrees. In September and October, the temperatures are still very pleasant and you can still swim.
How do I get to Corfu?
There are many possibilities to reach Corfu. You can fly directly to the island by plane, but you can also fly to Preveza or Ioannina and make the crossing by boat from Igoumenitsa. However, the island can also be easily reached by car and boat from Italy.
