About the experience

Half-day charter available for €330.

Our sailboat is a 1978 Shannon 38, designed by Walter Shultz. According to Ferenc Máté's "World's Best Sailboats," Volume II, it is among the best-built boats. The cabin features teak flooring and walls, with bronze portholes and cleats.

Forward, there is a private double cabin, a double berth to starboard, and a single berth to port. Five people can sleep comfortably.

This boat belonged to an English couple (Mike and Ineke) who lived there for 20 years, traveling throughout the Caribbean, the United States, Mexico, Panama, Aruba, and other destinations. Therefore, it is in excellent aesthetic and working condition. We currently use the boat for charters and family use. Because it's a boat that sails long distances, it has a full complement of safety equipment, as well as tools and spare parts in case of any eventuality. It has a dinghy with a 15-horsepower engine, a first-aid kit, fire extinguishers, VHF and MF/HF radios, a chart plotter, life jackets, hand flares and a flare gun, a depth sounder, an anemometer, and two CQR anchors (one chain and one rope).

The beaches of Tayrona National Park are the best in the area. Anchoring is permitted in Granate, Bahía Concha, and Cinto. From the international marina where we are docked, you can reach Cinto, where we recommend spending the night, as it takes approximately four hours to sail there. Granate (one hour away) is the first bay in Tayrona National Park, frequented by diving schools due to its underwater scenery. Bahía Concha (two hours away) is a very popular tourist beach.

In Cinto, you can find dishes offered by local fishermen. We have a grill for a great onboard experience with the catch of the day. Near the marina, you'll find excellent restaurants and the historic center of Santa Marta.

I'm Darío Vives, the owner of the yacht. I've been passionate about aerodynamics since I was young, starting with flying RC model airplanes and gliders. I'm a retired paragliding pilot (I flew for six years) in Bogotá. Since I was 22, I've dreamed of owning a boat. Now I'm 42, and after finally acquiring and owning one, I knew I hadn't made a mistake. It's the perfect blend of aerodynamics, livability, social gatherings, survival, and adventure—all in one place: a sailboat. After years of research, we patiently waited for a well-built and reputable boat to appear. That's how the Shannon 38, named Conari, came to us. A true ocean-going cutter with a full keel.

The sailboat is currently docked at the Santa Marta International Marina (IGY). I personally handle all repairs and maintenance, and I know the boat inside and out. I'm an instructor for Sunfish, Laser, windsurfing, and cruising. It would be my pleasure to enjoy sailing and nature while meeting new people. Thank you for flying with us.

What a great journey with Dario, Carlos a their help John. We sailed to the Tayrona park on a very windy day. So they had to work hard but it was great. The boat is very stable and secure. We arrived at a deserted place around lunch so we went for a snorkel along the coast and saw some good coral and fish. When we were ready the dinghy with Carlos picked us up. On the boat John made a great lunch with BBQ meat and potatoes. Alongside quacamole. Very good and enough. We sailed back to Tananaga and had another swim and snorkel. Back during sunset to the harbour. Super day. Thank you guys.
