Sailboat hire in Puerto Rico

Lost in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, is Puerto Rico: a small island, but with more than 400 kilometers of white sand beaches, islets, cays and turquoise sea. Sailboat hire in Puerto Rico will also allow you to sail paradisiac coasts, visit the largest capital of the Caribbean, admire the impressive culture of Old San Juan, visit excellent golf courses and fields of sugarcane where wordly rums produced. Puerto Rico also has mountains and jungles, excellent gastronomy and international fashion stores. It has beaches where you can see the sea illuminated at night time.

What to do with your sailboat hire in Puerto Rico

The island of Puerto Rico has six clearly differentiated regions, and each one of them invites you to carry out very varied activities. If you hire a sailboat in Puerto Rico we suggest you start your holiday in the eastern region, known as Porta Antillas. There is the largest port on the island and where we have sailboats for hire: Puerto del Rey Marina.

In Porta Antillas there is an abundance of luxury hotels, golf courses and dreamy beaches. We recommend diving in the keys of Fajardo, kayaking in the bioluminescent bay of Fajardo at night, and sailing towards Culebra and Vieques. Mosquito Bay, in Vieques, is the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world. And on Isla Culebra you will find one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, Playa Flamenco. If you want more nature, step on the east side and go hiking in the subtropical forest of El Yunque.

The Climate in Puerto Rico

The climate in Puerto Rico is tropical, warm and humid. And the average annual temperature, above and below the water is 26ºC. A pleasure! The Atlantic zone of the island is more rainy than the Caribbean region. The months with the highest rainfall are those between May and October, with August being the one with the most rainfall. The hurricane season is recorded between August and November. On the other hand, the driest months are January and April, highly recommended for holiday on your sailboat hire in Puerto Rico.

How to get to Puerto Rico

You can get to Puerto Rico by air or by sea. The Luis Muñoz Marín Airports (SJU) in San Juan and the Aguadilla City Airport (BQN) receive flights from Spain, the United States, the rest of the Caribbean and South America. Data: the SJU, in particular, has direct flights to and from Madrid, and they are usually cheaper than those of the BQN.
