All about Motorboat Rentals in Marbella

Motorboat rentals in Marbella are one of our most popular boat rentals in the area. Not only is a motorboat a comfortable yet extremely luxurious ride, but it’s also one of the fastest transport methods on the water, allowing you to explore all of Marbella’s beautiful surroundings.

Whether you would prefer to explore the golden sand coasts, snorkel with the tropical fish or experience the local Andalusian culture and food, Marbella has something for everyone. It’s seemingly difficult not to be seduced by its exotic charm, created by the backdrop of the Sierra Blanca Mountains.

Marbella's Harbors and Ports

We have motorboats in all four Marbella harbors, Puerto Deportivo de Marbella, Puerto José Banús, Fuengirola and Estepona

The most central to Marbella situated right on the seafront promenade, is Puerto Deportivo de Marbella. This port has up to 337 berths, high-quality facilities with the town centre within walking distance.

Puerto José Banús is west of central Marbella and is much larger, holding up to 915 berths. Renowned for being the harbor of the rich and famous’, even the King of Saudi Arabia moors here.

Further along to the west, Puerto Pesquero de Estepona has 447 berths and high-quality facilities, including water, electricity and wifi.

On the opposite side of Marbella along the East Coast, Puerto Deportivo de Fuengirola is a smaller harbor holding up to 226 spaces for vessels. The facilities include water, electricity and wifi.

Climate in Marbella

As the Mediterranean Coast in the south of Spain can really heat up during the summer season, this means spring and autumn are also fantastic seasons for cruising the coasts here. The day-time temperature doesn’t usually dip below 20°C until October or sometimes November. Although, November is statistically Marbella’s wettest month of the year.

A useful tip: Marbella’s Ports have live webcams which you can use to check the current weather conditions.

Navigation Routes around Marbella

If your time is short in Marbella, we recommend that you begin your motorboat rental in either Fuengirola or central Marbella. Our main argument for this is that you save travel time  efficiently by choosing a starting point closer to the airport. Choosing to start in the eastern part of the Costa de Sol region means you can cruise down the Mediterranean Coast working your way south-west until as far as your time allows you to stretch, before returning back to your starting harbor.

Alternatively, if you have plenty of time on your hands, the Alboran sea is all yours. Why not navigate down to Gibraltar or pop over to Morocco for a day trip and some lunch? if you’re an animal lover, spend the day on deck cruising the ocean in search of bottlenose dolphins and loggerhead sea turtles.

What to do in Marbella

Shoppers, gourmet experts, cocktail sippers and adventure seekers, prepare yourselves. Marbella’s shopping scene is extensive, with restaurants and bars galore, but there is also many an adventure to be found in the nearby mountains. We highly recommend a hike to La Concha Mountain for the best views stretching all the way to North Africa. On Sundays, Estepona holds a large street market, a popular event with both locals and tourists.

Known for its beaches and medieval castle looking over the coast, Fuengirola is a nearby town to the east of Marbella. One of our top choices for day trips is the local Bioparc. Bioparc is an animal park to which Tripadvisor has recently awarded a certificate of excellence, as this park really does set the European bar high in terms of animal species preservation and respect for wildlife and nature.

How to get to Marbella

Malaga Airport (AGP) is the closest airport to Marbella and has three terminals with flights directly from locations mainly in Europe. You can travel from the airport to Marbella by bus or taxi. The bus costs €7 and the journey is approx. 45 minutes. A taxi fare will be between €40-50.

Please take into account that this distance is from AGP to Marbella city centre. Therefore, if you are beginning your motorboat rental in Fuengirola, your journey will be shorter and cost less.
