  • Sailboat - The average price for rental is $276/day
  • RIBS - Prices start at $310/day
  • Motorboat - The average price is $1,249/day

What to do in Lake Como

With stunning views, beautiful towns, and countless attractions to visit, there’s so much to love about Lake Como! Rent a boat and sail its blue waters to take advantage of the exceptional views. From the northern arm to the two southern arms, from the left bank to the right, this lake is a succession of towns full of history, charming villages to visit, and places to dock and enjoy a day on dry land in total tranquility.

When is the best time to rent a boat?

The best time to rent a boat in Lake Como is between May and September when you have warm, pleasant temperatures and minimal precipitation. For the hottest weather, visit in the summer when the highest average temperature is 78°F. However, it’s important to note that the summertime is the high season in Lake Como, so the prices of yacht charters are higher and it will be relatively crowded. If you want less dense crowds and better prices, we recommend visiting Lake Como in May or September when it will still be warm!

Charter a yacht in Lake Como

Do you want to sail on Lake Como but don’t have a license to sail? Not to worry! At Click&Boat, we’ve got a large fleet of yacht charters in Lake Como and surrounding areas, which include a skipper on board or allow you to add a skipper at an additional cost.

For a more personalized and unique sailing experience, charter a yacht with a skipper. Skippers are nautical professionals who will handle everything regarding navigating, anchoring, and docking the vessel, all while following the region’s sailing rules, so you don’t have to worry about anything.

Rules for sailing on Lake Como

While each municipality may issue specific regulations for sailing along its stretch of the lake, there are still general rules to keep in mind. These are the basic rules you should know if you charter a boat on Lake Como:

  • The minimum distance from the shore must be more than 165 yards
  • The exit and return are only allowed perpendicular to the shore
  • The maximum sailing speed is 27 knots (about 30 miles/hour)

In addition, to sail on Lake Como, all boats must be equipped with the necessary onboard equipment for sailing up to 1 mile, i.e. life jackets for each passenger, a lifebuoy with 32 yards of floating line, and a fire extinguisher.

How to get to your Lake Como boat rental?

There are 3 airports in Milan. Malpensa (about 1 hour), Linate (about 1 hour) and Milan Bergamo (A little over an hour). They are all accessible by bus from the airport itself to Milano Centrale station and then by train direct to Como San Giovanni station, where you can pick up a bus to anywhere else on the Lake.
