The beauty of Oia is unsurpassed. In fact, it is almost impossible to describe in words. Small white houses tier the hillside, interspersed by splashes of rich okra, deep fuchsia, cobalt blue, oyster pink, and earthy red. Smooth winding paths interconnect, interrupted now and then by a small church, and at every corner, there is something new to discover.

Black Rock Mountain cliffs

These sheer cliffs and outcroppings are formed from ancient lava flows, sculpted over millennia by volcanic activity, wind, and sea erosion. The dark hues of the basalt and solidified lava create a striking contrast against the Aegean’s vivid blue

Volcano Nea Kameni

It is the larger of the two central islets and is the youngest land in Greece, created by eruptions between 1570 and 1950. We will pass by the active volcanic island and feel the history of eruptions that shaped Santorini.

Hot Springs & Caldera Bay

The volcanic eruption of the late 17th c. BC cut Therasia off from the rest of the landmass, showering it with billions of tons of magma that turned into pumice and ash, increasing its surface area to 9.3 square kilometers. At the same time, the caldera was formed – the sea ravine that links, but also separates, Therasia from its larger, cosmopolitan sister.

White island - "Aspronisi"

Aspronisi (literally meaning “White Island”) is a small uninhabited islet in the Santorini caldera, located between Therasia and the main island of Santorini. It was formed from volcanic activity thousands of years ago and is part of the same volcanic complex.

Indian Rock Formation

Locals sometimes refer to it as “Indianos.” Some even spot a resemblance to the archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos, who excavated Akrotiri, a striking natural landmark on Santorini’s southern coast. Shaped by volcanic activity, wind, and sea erosion, its silhouette remarkably resembles the profile of a Native American complete with a forehead, nose, and chin when viewed from the right angle.

The Lighthouse of Akrotiri

In the lovely, tranquil village of Akrotiri, you can find the well-known lighthouse located on the extreme southwest part of the island, 18 kilometers away from the capital of Santorini. It is considered one of the best and most beautiful lighthouses in the Cyclades. Attuned to the rest of the island, it is an admirable building with whitewashed walls standing on the edge of a high cliff right above the sea. It is, by all means, an idyllic setting.

Mesa Pigadia Beach

Mesa Pigadia is one of the isolated beaches of Santorini located around Akrotiri village, It has black pebbles and beautiful crystal clear waters. This beach is ideal for relaxation and to take a break from crowded beaches and villages. Like most of the beaches in the area, it is surrounded by beautiful cliffs. A stop for snorkeling and swimming is also welcome here!

White Beach

Unlike the more famous Red Beach nearby, White Beach is accessible mainly by boat or a bit of hiking, so it tends to feel quiet and less crowded. The beach itself is made up of coarse sand and white pumice stones, giving it a wild and natural charm. This beach is ideal for relaxation and to take a break from crowded beaches and villages. Like most of the beaches in the area, it is surrounded by beautiful cliffs. A stop for snorkeling and swimming is also welcome here!

Red Beach

The Red Beach of Santorini is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches, arguably in all of Greece. It is named for the iron-rich rocks in the cliff's face towering over the beach above you as well as the red sand. The very dark blue waters and the red ground combine into an unmatched vista, creating a "never-seen-before" landscape. The interesting and morphological nature of this particular area makes Red Beach one of the most captivating and exciting beaches in the world. We will sail there for the first hour of our trip with the possibility of swimming.
